Health as Balance, Synergy and Flow

The universe as we know it is all about movement. From electrons spinning about their atomic nuclei to the most colossal stars and massive galaxies wheeling through space, all is in motion. Nothing is static. Life itself is ever growing, shifting and evolving. Like the oceans’ tides, the changing of the Earth’s seasons and the waxing and waning of the moon, there are perpetual and cyclic rhythms to the motion of the entirety of the natural universe.

These rhythms are nature’s way of striking a balance between the ubiquitous polarities of life. Indeed, for life to exist at all there must be a certain synergetic balance. As the elements of air, water, earth, fire, along with subtler, etheric energies interact synergistically, their alchemical synthesis gives rise to life.

The existence of all living organisms - whether they be planets, ecosystems on those planets, or the flora and fauna that comprise ecosystems - are dependent upon a certain harmonious, balanced interaction and symbiotic flow between the myriad elements that comprise all life in nature. Our bodies, being a part of nature, are no different. And maintaining a certain equilibrium within us is a key factor when it comes to maintaining a state of vitality and good health.

In truth, it is the balanced, synergetic movement and flow within our bodies that gives rise to a state of coherence, or homeostasis within us. It is this homeostasis that serves as the foundation for vibrant, vigorous and sustained good health.

The Body’s Streaming Pulse of Life

With each breath of air that goes in and out of our lungs, our bodies rise and fall. Our hearts beat rhythmically, pulsing life-giving oxygen via our blood throughout our cardiovascular system, carrying energy and nourishment to, and wastes from, each and every one of our many trillions of cells.

The food and drink we consume course through us so their nutrients may be assimilated and absorbed by and through our digestive tracts, while our lymphatic system provides transport for white blood cells, proteins and lipids, as it simultaneously carries wastes away cellular and metabolic toxins and wastes.

The liver and kidneys regularly filter every drop of our blood, removing impurities and regulating the blood’s chemistry. These two major organs of filtration, along with the lungs, colon and skin, serve as the primary pathways of elimination through which our bodies purify and detoxify themselves.

The endocrine system, an ingenious arrangement of glands located throughout the brain, neck and torso, acts as an interface between our physical bodies and our subtler mental, emotional and astral bodies. These glands, several of which are located at nexus points called chakras along the body’s meridians, regulate, inform and influence myriad biological and physiological functions via the secretion of hormones, which are chemical messengers designed to transport specific signals intracellularly.

Electromagnetic impulses are conducted between the body’s vast network of neural circuitry, transmitting complex, vital signals throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems, while our bones provide foundational structure, while our musculature and connective tissue facilitate strength, flexibility and mobility.

Our thoughts and emotions, although invisible, are also integral to both our physical and physiological makeup, and have a profound effect upon the way in which our bodies function.

Coherent, Harmonious Homeostasis is Key to Healing and Wellness

In order for us to maintain our overall good health, to recover quickly if we get sick or hurt and to avoid the onset of chronic degenerative disease, all our bodily and energetic systems must function together coherently, in a balanced way.

Staying well nourished, hydrated and rested, ensuring that our bodies are able to offload toxins and wastes in a timely manner, and avoiding becoming overstressed or fatigued for prolonged periods, provides us with the best opportunity to maintain optimal inner balance, homeostatis, synergy and flow, which are the fundamental keys to natural health and healing.
